Message from our Executive Director

As we achieve a critical milestone of moving out of our infancy i.e. being in action for 5 years in fighting malnutrition in India; a strong realization sets in my soul on the incredible journey of Fight Hunger Foundation during these years and the accomplishments achieved so far.

For Fight Hunger Foundation, It has been a great journey to-date.

Starting in 2010, with a strong assessment based identification of the high risk areas having severe prevalence of acute malnutrition, achieving legal compliances as well as establishing credentials through demonstrated preventive and curative impactful CMAM models, working in the most marginalized 500+ communities, there has been great action in the field.

The ever expanding outreach through different partnerships with unique sustainable, replicable and scalable integrated program design based on evidence centered action and research within 3 states along with the government agencies & department’s in diverse demography’s and topographies has been a great learning within the organization. Through our programs, to-date we have catered to 60,000 children, directly touched 300,000 plus lives and impacted a population of 800,000 during our journey.

During these years the organization has transformed, with the Board being led by our Chairman Emeritus, Mr. M.S. Swaminathan and the Founding members backing the organization with strong commitment, support and advice. At the same time, the organization connected with strong brand ambassadors from diverse segment of the society such as Mr. Sachin Tendulkar, Ms. Sonam Kapoor, Mr. Sonu Nigam, Mr. John Abraham and Celebrity Chefs; pitching for the cause with their time and networking for generating awareness and resources contributing towards the change that we wished to achieve.

The diversifying of resource mobilization mechanism (i.e. Institutional, CSR, Foundations, Events, Direct Marketing and Digital Crowd funding etc.) for organizational stability and growth with an acute focus on positioning, communication and advocacy is already yielding results and is creating a unique recognition for Fight Hunger Foundation in becoming the “Go To” organization across the technical, operational, research and advocacy capacities being demonstrated around the macro, meso and micro contexts.

An extremely important milestone in 2017 has been the nomination of being the “6th HQ - Member” of the Global Action Against Hunger Network representing and bringing the southern development perspective, need and acumen to the entity.

At one end, a lot has been achieved during these years but we also feel overwhelmed by the enormity, scale and magnitude of the task yet to be achieved against the desired objectives. A strange mixed emotion that I have is well reflected by the stanza of the poem “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening “by Robert Frost.

“The woods are lovely, dark and deep, but I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep, and miles to go before I sleep!”
